
Eta Carinae is located in the constellation Carina and believed to lie about 7,500 light-years from Earth. The star itself is surrounded by a large, bright nebula, variously known as the Homunculus Nebula, the Eta Carinae Nebula, the Keyhole Nebula, or NGC 3372.
